For anyone who has played or watched a game title of Texas holdem being played there are terms that a dealer may use while distributing the playing cards around the table. If you are not familiar with this particular poker game I'll explain briefly how this interesting and fun game evolves. Texas holdem is really a variation of poker with the exception that it's played with seven cards instead of the usual five, and there's no draw. Each player is dealt two cards face-down around the poker table.
One more five cards are dealt face up in the center. These five cards are known as community cards that are shared by all players while dining. The object is to use your two cards which are face-down with a mixture of three community cards to construct the very best or winning hand. When the first couple of cards are dealt to all players the blinds are put who are holding cards through the players to the left from the dealer. Blinds are automatic forced bets. The gamer left of the dealer, known as the small blind, places the first agreed upon bet with chips. The following player to the left from the small blind places the large blind bet (usually double that of the small blind).
The remaining players can then decide to call (match the big blind), raise, or fold. The following three cards known as the FLOP are dealt face up in the heart of the table for the remaining players. Players beginning to the left from the dealer can check, raise/call, or fold. The fourth card, called the TURN, will be dealt face up and, once again beginning with the gamer left of the dealer, players can check, raise/call, or fold. The final card known as the RIVER is dealt face up. Remaining players can then decide to check, raise/call, or fold.
The winner using the best five-card hand, as based on poker rules, collects the chips in the pot. Normally, the small blind and big blind would then be passed to another player(s) around the left and the deal would begin again. As with any poker game, the objective (if your time limit or bet limit is not set) is to be the final player remaining in the end chips happen to be collected.
